EBSCO
This comprehensive set of databases provides information in a variety of academic disciplines. It has articles that are full text or full image from thousands of periodicals. It covers general topics and has specialized databases for several disciplines such as psychology, business, health, religion, literature, education and many other areas of study.

JSTOR

JSTOR offers researchers the ability to retrieve high-resolution, scanned images of journal issues and pages as they were originally designed, printed, and illustrated. The journals archived in JSTOR span many disciplines. JSTOR is not a current issues database. Because of JSTOR's archival mission, there is a gap, typically from 1 to 5 years, between the most recently published journal issue and the back issues available in JSTOR. For 2007, HSU has access to Arts and Sciences I, additional JSTOR collections will be added over the next several years.

FirstSearch
This is a group of over 50 databases covering everything from art to technology. Specialized databases of note are WilsonSelectPlus (full text), WorldCat, Basic BIOSIS, RILM (music), Education Abstracts, and many others.

TexShare
This set of databases covers a gamut of research needs. Many of the databases are full text. Topics covered include literature, Sanborn Maps, newspapers, electronic books, and a wide variety of useful tools for research.

ProQuest
Database of the Wall Street Journal from 1984 - present, and The New York Times from 1851 - 2001.

LexisNexis
This database has the Academic Universe and the Government Periodicals Universe. Its primary focus is on news, business, legal, health and government information. Much of what is here is full text.

News Bank
Full-text content of local and regional newspapers. Each newspaper has its own distinctive focus offering a variety of viewpoints on local and world issues. Paid advertisements are excluded.

Specialized Databases
The library has subscriptions to a number of specialized databases in specific areas of study. They include Value Line Investment Survey, ACS Publications, AP Photo Archive, BioOne (full text), Wiley Interscience (full text), HSU Electronic Journal List, Grove Music Index, Guide to Music Periodical Literature, Morningstar, Original Sources, and the Columbia International Affairs Online (CIAO).
